Football markets, settlement rules and promotions explained
No other sport has as many betting markets as football, and they range from the plain match result to corner and card counts. An Indian cricket fan will recognise the pattern from IPL match-day menus. All that choice has a price, because margins usually climb as markets get more exotic. This guide explains the common markets and the rules that settle them.

| Market | What the market covers |
|---|---|
| 1X2 | The result after regular time: home side wins, draw or away side wins |
| Double chance | Any two of the three possible results |
| Over/under goals | Whether the goal count finishes over or under a set line |
| Goals from both sides | Whether each side finds the net at least once |
| Asian handicap | A goal start or deficit where part of the stake may be returned |
| Corner and card counts | Markets based on match statistics, where margins often run higher |
Why the 90 minutes and stoppage time decide most markets
Extra time and penalties usually sit outside settlement, since most football markets close on regular time plus stoppage time. So a side can go through on penalties in a cup tie while a bet on it to 'win' still loses. Progression has its own separate 'to qualify' market. For abandoned matches, the operator's rules apply, and the bet is often void unless play restarts within a stated period.
Estonian league and international coverage
A sportsbook may list fewer markets for Estonian league games than for Europe's major competitions. Where a market is thin, margins can rise and limits can fall. The market list shows the real depth, which may not match that of a bigger league.
How promotions treat football markets
Sports bonus terms commonly set minimum odds for each selection and can leave out some markets, including Asian handicaps that may return stakes. Free bet value shifts with the odds: a low-priced favourite pays little, while a longer price pays more but lands less often. As pure arithmetic, a ₹10 free bet at 1.50 returns ₹5 on a win, and at 4.00 it returns ₹30. Football bets rarely count towards casino cashback or slot tournaments. None of this changes the prohibition on staking money from India.
What to read in a market's rules
- Settlement rules explain what happens with overtime, abandoned matches and retirements.
- Bonus and free bet terms list the minimum odds and the markets that qualify.
- Adding up a market's implied probabilities reveals its margin, which allows comparison between markets.
- Live markets move fast, which is why stake limits are usually discussed before kick-off; from India, staking money is prohibited.
