Complaints and disputes: an order that works
Promotion disputes are among the most common casino complaints — and among the easiest to lose, because the terms are long and the evidence is often not kept. This guide sets out an order of escalation. We are an information site and cannot intervene in individual cases, but a well-prepared complaint has a far better chance.
Step 1: collect evidence
- Screenshots of the offer or tournament terms as they were when you opted in.
- Proof of opt-in or code entry.
- Deposit confirmations, with time.
- Round IDs, game names and stakes for any disputed play.
- Your own calculation (for example, of net loss for a cashback period).
Step 2: support, in writing
Contact the operator's support. Describe the issue briefly, attach the evidence and ask which paragraph of the terms applies. Ask for the answer in writing or save the chat transcript. Many issues end here: a missed opt-in, a stake below the tournament minimum, an excluded game.
Step 3: formal complaint to the operator
If the answer does not resolve it, ask for your complaint to be handled through the operator's formal complaints procedure, which should be described in its terms. Give a deadline you consider reasonable and keep a copy.
Step 4: the licensing authority
Find out which authority licensed the operator — the licence information is normally in the site footer or terms. If the operator is licensed in Estonia, the regulator is the Tax and Customs Board (EMTA); you can check the list of legal organisers on emta.ee. If the licence is from another jurisdiction, that jurisdiction's regulator and its complaint procedures apply. We do not state which licence Jalla holds; check the operator's terms.
Step 5: consumer protection and dispute bodies
Depending on the case and the operator's jurisdiction, consumer protection authorities or an alternative dispute resolution body named in the operator's terms may be relevant. The terms usually say which body handles disputes the operator cannot resolve itself.
| Dispute type | Most common cause |
|---|---|
| Bonus not credited | No opt-in, excluded payment method, deposit below the qualifying amount |
| Cashback lower than expected | Bonus wagers or certain games excluded from net loss |
| Tournament points missing | Stake below minimum, game not included, round after the deadline |
| Winnings removed | Maximum bet rule broken while a bonus was active |
Keep the timeline
Write down dates as they happen: when you opted in, when you deposited, when you contacted support, when you received each reply. Promotions often have short validity periods, and a clear timeline shows whether you acted within them. It also prevents the dispute from turning into a disagreement about what was said when.
A word on tone
Stay factual. A short, dated, evidenced message is read more carefully than an angry one, and it is what you will need at any later stage.
