Crypto payments at Jalla: what to check before you send a coin
Crypto is attractive for its independence from banks, but it adds three layers of risk that card and bank payments do not have: choosing the right network, the exchange rate between the coin and your euro balance, and the irreversibility of a transfer. If crypto is available in your Jalla cashier, this page helps you use it without paying for those risks by accident.
The set of methods and the limits depend on your account and country of residence — the cashier inside your Jalla account is the only place that shows what applies to you. Which coins and networks are supported is shown in the cashier; we do not claim a specific list.
Network first, coin second
The same token can exist on several blockchains. A stablecoin, for example, may be offered on more than one network, and the deposit address shown by the casino belongs to one specific network. Sending on a different network is one of the most common ways to lose a crypto deposit. Always copy the address from the cashier each time, compare the first and last characters, and choose exactly the network displayed.
Exchange rates and your euro balance
If your casino balance is kept in euros, every crypto deposit is converted at some rate, and every crypto withdrawal is converted back. Between those two moments the coin's price can move. That matters for promotions: a qualifying deposit threshold for a reload or tournament is usually defined in euros, so a transfer that looked large enough when you sent it might convert to slightly less. Leave a margin, or check the credited euro amount before assuming the offer is active.
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Which network does the address belong to? | Wrong network = funds may be lost |
| How many confirmations are required? | Determines when the balance appears |
| At what rate is the deposit credited? | Affects whether promo thresholds are met |
| Are crypto deposits eligible for offers? | Some terms exclude them |
| Can I withdraw in the same coin? | Otherwise you need another route |
Do crypto deposits count for bonuses, cashback and tournaments?
There is no universal answer. Some operators treat crypto like any other deposit, others exclude it from certain offers, and cashback is sometimes calculated only on play from qualifying deposits. Read the "eligible deposits" or "excluded methods" line in each promo's terms before you send, not afterwards.
Withdrawing to a wallet
For a crypto withdrawal you provide an address. Double-check it and the network, because nobody can reverse a transfer to a wrong address. Verification rules still apply — using crypto does not remove the operator's obligation to know its customers. Winnings are converted from euros at the rate the operator applies at that moment.
Tax note for Estonian residents
EMTA distinguishes winnings from organisers licensed in Estonia (not taxed) from winnings from unlicensed organisers (taxable income at 22%, to be declared). Paying in crypto does not change that distinction. For organisers licensed in another EEA country EMTA gives no separate guidance, so we make no claim.
Practical rules
- Send a small test amount the first time you use a new address or network.
- Keep the transaction hash — it is your proof if a deposit does not appear.
- Do not chase a tournament position with repeated top-ups while coin prices move.
